I don't get a lot of voicemails so it's hard to pinpoint when this started. But under 4.2.2 it was always the case that when a vmail was left I would transitionally see the standard vmail message bar icon and then, within seconds, the AT&T Visual Vmail message bar icon would replace it.
Now under 4.4.2, including a voicemail "reset" by AT&T and a re-install and (re)setup of voicemail and visual voicemail (e.g. password, greeting, etc), it is ALWAYS the case that I will only see the standard voicemail message bar icon UNTIL I run the AT&T Visual Voicemail app. Takes a second or two, but the message will register in visual voicemail and from then on, as long as the visual voice mail app is actice, I will get visual voice mails and alerts as expected.
Visual Voicemail Show Notifications is set. This happens even with Wi-Fi disabled.
Now the Visual Voice mail app does not automatically startup nor can it be guaranteed to remain running once accessed.
Certanly not the end of the world...just weird and maybe something simple overlooked by me.
