So I've had my iPhone with ATT for several years, kept the unlimited data plan because I was grandfathered in, but most importantly because I don't like having to worry about how much data I'm using.
Today I got a lovely text message notifying me that I have used over 3GB of data, and if I use more than 3GB of data in the future, it will affect my internet/web/data speeds. That's ridiculous!
I have been waiting for 6 months for the iPhone 6 to come out, and was going to stick with ATT despite the customer service issues I've had, mostly because of my data plan. Now? I will definitely switch to a different mobile company who cares about their customers and are much less expensive than what I'm paying now.
I don't care if you currently charge new customers with tiered data packages, you should not punish me for being a loyal customer and having a data plan that benefits me by having a grandfathered unlimited data plan. I don't want to have to worry about my data usage or monitor how much I've used, that's why I've kept it for so long.
With one policy and one text message ATT lost a loyal 6 year customer. Great job!
