Will there ever be a way to access messages without having the cell phone to get an access code?
If I have the phone with me, then I would be using it for messaging and would not need the app or PC interface.
If I'm using the messaging app on my tablet or a PC, it's because I do not have my cell phone with me. I would still like to be able to check and send texts but can no longer do that on my PC because it will not let me log on without the code from my cell phone. It wouldn't be so bad if the code was only required once, but it's every time I try to access messages.
The app is still working on my tablet but only because I noticed that the latest "improvement" was the two step verification with the cell phone. I will not be applying the update. I have to log into the app with my email and password so there is a degree of security already there.
I guess what I'd like to know is if the pin verification is here to stay, would it be possible for users to determine how it is delivered? Sending it by email or being able to choose what phone number the text goes to would help quite a bit.
Thanks.
