Hi
Often the source of these spam messages comes from other unrelated marketing information sharing. So for example, if a customer signs up for a competition with their cell number, it’s possible that this information is shared with other marketing companies and this results in spam messages which were unsolicited. Of course, most well respected companies have a privacy policy stating that they will never share your contact information.
It’s also possible that the spam messages are being sent to numbers in a sequence on a mass scale. For example, 555-555-5555 -> 555-555-5556 and so on.
And there’s also the possibility that the number was shared by a previous user of the cell number. In all of these scenarios, forwarding the Spam text to us, helps us start an investigation to try to prevent it from happening again.
I hope this helps explain!
Thanks,
Charise
