Re: FRAUDULENT DATA OVERAGE CHARGES

It is a relief to see that others have been ripped off by At&T like we have - I feel badly for all of us but at least I don't feel crazy - and those of you who have not had the experience, you are very lucky.  We have experienced the jamming of data right before billing date - and many other things described here.  I have switched out phones - upgraded - turned the phone off - have spoken with at least 50 different people - every time we get someone who does a remote check - says, "this is weird" and starts to try and figure things out, they disappear and do not call back, as promised.  One time I got a credit for overages but that agent has never called back as promised either.  After 3 calls today, finally got someone who stopped reading from the manual and he promised to call me back - that was 10 hours ago.  My 21 year old son's phone is the victim - we, too, were getting angry with him for being careless with data - well, he knows his phone better than anyone at AT&T - he knows all the tricks - he knows how to turn things on and off and avoid charges - except for turning it off completely, every time he turns it back on, charges appear and when he does something simple, the data that is registered as being used is completely out of proportiojn to the activity - he does not game or stream movies or Pandora - he goes on facebook for communication for his small business - looks at youtube periodically - nothing extreme - gets a GPS direction set and then turns off the data - went to Florida for two weeks and used data non-stop - within one day back home, he was over.

I tried to dispute the charges as advised by an ATT rep - as soon as ATT decided they were not at fault, I started getting phone calls and emails about needing to pay the bill or lose service - I have NEVER missed a bill in  over a decade - they decided I owed them back overages and refused my daughter an upgrade - she switched to another carrier - as soon as we don't have to pay to disengage from AT&T, my son will switch to something else.  I have a grandfathered unlimited data - my data is on 24/7 and my usage is nothing compared to his.  I have filed a complaint with the FCC and filed another one tonight.  Does ATT care?  Not a bit - I paid the ransom to keep my phone ($250.00) but I owe another $450 by March 17.  People need to pile on the FCC complaints . . .
