Hi, I've recently moved to Europe and I am not using my iPhone 5S for anything but wifi. I have 1.5 years left on my AT&T contract, so I'm still paying on it back home, but I've got a burner phone here with a new local number, and use my iPhone now only to connect to the Messenger app (which I use for most texting here) and to check email. I noticed lots of people here have personal wifi hotspots on their iPhones and I'm wondering if I can get that added to my AT&T plan somehow so I don't have to find a wifi hotspot to use my apps. I have the phone switched to Airplane Mode, as I said I'm not making any calls or sending text messages, just want to be able to connect to wifi while on the go.
I had a little T-mobile wifi hotspot stick, but it was recently stolen; in lieu of having to buy a new one I'm wondering if I can set up the hotspot on my phone somehow. Of course I can't get T-mobile to add it for me, as the phone's locked to AT&T.
What are my options? I can't afford to add international data to my monthly bill for $60/mo., so that's out of the question.
I'd really like to figure out a long-term (not just a temporary travel package) solution so I can actually use my iPhone here!
Thanks in advance!
