True, she needs to turn on SMS messaging so that texts go through when the Data is turned off. I've been experiencing a tremendous problem after trying the feature to turn off the data for the first time in order to avoid going over. I'll never do it again. My phone is currently "No Service" But then again, I made the mistake of going back to Iphone after 2 years of Samsung because I missed it so much. BIG MISTAKE!!!! Reception is horrible where I live and I can't even talk in my home. But as far as the text issue, go to settings, messgaing, tutn on the SMS messaging. They go green but it works.
