I used to be on an unlimited data plan with T-mobile so I'm not familiar with having to monitor my data usage. I switched to AT&T because the service is simply better where I am. I have been having huge issues with my data consumption. Silly me thought that any time I was on wireless I wouldn't be using cellular data because I was under the impression cellular companies could tell when you were on WiFi and would stop cellular transmission. After the 3rd month going over I decided to contact AT&T. They told me that in order to use wireless and not use cellular, I have to manually turn off cellular every singe time I connect to a wireless network. This sounds completely insane to me, especially with the type of tech we have. Is what they told me actually acurate and I have to go in and manually turn cellular data every single time I wish to use WiFi for data?
