Just because they did something once in the past doesn't mean that they still have the ability to do it now. How are you certain that the changes to perform the automatic reset at the beginning of a new billing cycle didn't remove the capability to do a reset manually? Perhaps that can do that by forcing you to lose the remainder of your curretn billing cycle and start a new one that day. Do you think that would be a viable solution? It's possible that now that the reset is automated, there is no manual way to do it any longer.
