It has been going on for about 6-8 months and only is a problem with a short code sent frommy employers employee portal. I receive other text messages without any problem (bank, local utilities, etc.). Not sure what Advanced Messaging is, but I do have iMessaging enabled. I live in the US Virgin Islands.

This is really embarrassing. As a mom, I have to explain to 16 other mom's why I can't respond or participate in group texts regarding a girl scout troop. As an employee, I cannot respond to a group text regarding scheduling needs. As a friend, I cannot respond to a group text regarding a group get together. Why again am I paying for a service that I have to make excuses and apologize for? I might as well tell everyone my phone is shut off because I didn't play the bill!

Unable to receive sms messages over WiFi
I can currently send sms messages over AT&T WiFi to any non iPhone device and that person will receive my text, but when they reply back I can not receive the sms text message until i’m connected to a cell tower. I do know that AT&T supports sms through WiFi because my dad can. At the time I am creating this post he is right beside me. He has the same phone as I do. I currently have the iPhone 10s max. It don’t make any since if he can receive sms messages from a android device I should be able to do the same thing. He can text his wife, she has a android. I’m not sure if the make or model. He sends the sms message and she receives it. When she replies back he receives the message with no issues. When she texts me I don’t receive the message. I can text her and she receives my messages. I have spent a lot of time talking with customer care and they cant fix my issue. I know of many iPhone users in my area can send and receive sms text messages to android phones without any issues over WiFi. I don’t have cell towers in my location so WiFi is my only option.

Wifi Calling no longer works for Note 8
Wifi Calling feature no longer works for my Note 8. I repeatedly get the " Wifi call provisioning failed, please try again later" message. It worked just a few weeks ago. I have tried everything short of a factory reset. Please do not refer me to the online trouble shooting tool as it is....not helpful. Can Att check my provisioning? Frustrated.....thanks

Re: International roaming setting
You still need to turn data roaming on to use data. However, my advice is to leave it off and only turn it on when you want to use data. Smartphones will use data even if you aren’t. Leaving data roaming off will prevent unintended data usage and unexpected charges.

I tried several of the short codes as suggested in the link. Some worked (FedEx, Capitol One), some didn't (Google). I was able to receive a short code text through AT&T Start Services as well.

Thank you for informing us. Since you're able to receive some, but not all short code text messages, short code text messaging is already enabled on your wireless plan. Have you tried texting "HELP" to the short code that you're experiencing this issue with? It's common that an SMS marketing software provider may have the wrong carrier stored for your wireless phone number. For the majority of SMS marketing software providers, you texting "HELP" to the short code will reset the wireless carrier that's associated with your wireless phone number. Please give that a try, and let us know if it helps.

As of Tuesday 2/26/19 I haven't received any group texts. I have 3 group texts that have less than 5 people each and for whatever reason I haven't received any texts from any of the groups since Tuesday. This has happened at least 5 or 6 times over the last year or so and usually the texts come in a few days later. I have yet to receive any of them. I even tried resetting my network settings like AT&T's troubleshooting recommended. I have received single texts--I don't know if I've missed any of them. I have an Iphone 7. I do not believe the issue is with my phone because a lady I work with had the same issue a week ago also. Can an AT&T customer representative please let me know why this keeps happening?

Cannot receive certain text alerts
I have always been able to receive traffic text alerts from rainedout.com on my prior Samsung sgh-i547 Rugby Pro. Had to replace it and did so with the exact same Rugby Pro. Cannot receive traffic alerts on this one. Contacted Rainedout.com and they verified that they send them to me. What am I doing wrong or what settings need to be changed or is AT&T blocking them or do I need to add additional numbers to the text number for rainedout.com which is 84483. I really miss these alerts. They are very valuable for my commute back and forth to work. Thanks for any help.

What I am trying to do is get a verification code from my employer through their employee portal to register my cellphone as an option for password recovery. When I go to the website and try and do this I never receive a message with the verification code after entering my phone number and carrier. i do receiev texts form employer through their notification system about campus emergencies and such.
Our IT office was trying to help and they had verification codes sent to them and they came from the following short codes:
1 410 200 751 and 1 410 100 139
When I tried sending HELP to either one of these got a reply "Your MSG could not be DELIVERED because SmtpNonReplyableMsg"

inbound port forwarding
Why can't I get data on a specific port forwarded back to my cellphone or mobile hotspot. it looks like AT&T is blocking this function. you can prove this your self by going to WWW.GRC.COM and running the Shields Up port test from your phone or mobile hotspot, It will show that ports were pingable but your port will show stealth meaning your device did not reply. do this without a vpn connection.
I have several programs that need to see port 51004 incoming data to work properly. Anyone have an answer?
of course AT&T says they dont block anything.

Unable to print prior talk data usage
Although I am able to pull up reports detailing previous talk usage, I am unable to print. The option to print or download such reports is offered but is non-functional. Am I missing something?

The message center for the Velocity 2 allows you to view messages from the AT&T network. You're not able to reply to those messages received on the mobile hotspot, however they can be deleted.

ok so that helps me understand my situation but just to be sure, I have unlimited international texting and I am set up for the day pass just in case, but I don't intend on using it unless absolutely necessary. We have wifi at all the places we are staying, so I guess it would just be if we are walking around and get lost or need help in an emergency. So I should turn off roaming (or just turn to airplane mode) when we are away from wifi? Any suggestions would be helpful, every other time I've traveled to Europe I've spent way too much money on international calling plans and I'd like to avoid that this trip, which will be almost 5 weeks.
