I am at a campsite in western Colorado that I have been to many times before,
and when I got here a couple days ago I had 5 bars of ATT. I decided to do an online upgrade
of my Version 1 iPhone to iOs5. After the update I began to get the 'off network' indication as
well as received the email notice. I called the number in the email and they assured me that there would be no extra charges or changes whatsoever as long as I didn't make it a habit of doing such data intensive things as iOs updates. Since I don't expect to be at this location but for a few days, and don't generally do data intensive things, it SHOULDN'T be a problem. Time, and the amount of my next few bills, will tell. Apparently before, when it was saying 5 bars of ATT, it was fibbing, and the update made it tell the real truth?? As long as it doesn't affect my $$ I don't care what it says, but it sure does look fishy, don't it? Why would they write a lie into an older version of iOs, and "fix" it in this later release? Or maybe it's STARTED fibbing now?? Like I said, if it really doesn't affect my monthly payment, I don't care, if it DOES, I'll be looking for a different carrier! JD in Colorado
