Welcome to the AT&T Community Forums! I am sorry that you and your girlfriend are being harassed by whoever is sending the text. This is one of those things that is hard to stop from happening, especially if they spoofing the number.

 

You can attempt to block the message by pressing and holding down the received text. A sub menu should come up and allow you to block the sender. Again, if they are spoofing the number, that won’t work. The only resolution at that point would be to change the phone number.

Welcome to the AT&T Community Forums! Hope all is well in Mississippi! I am sorry to hear that you are having an issue since updating your phone. I am glad to help out! What device do you have…Android or iPhone?

 

I would make sure the notifications are still on. The update may have turned them off and normally notifications are off by default. If you discover that that are on still, then you may have to do a factory reset on the phone. Let me know if that works for you.

Do you have an iPhone? If sent as an iMessage it won't show up on the bill.

Im new to all of this, i saw the prepaid cards at Walmart from 15.00 up to 45.00. My question is what does each card do? I've read the backs of the cards but they dont specify. I bought my daughter the 30.00 card last month, what is the difference between that, the 25.00 and the 15.00 card?

Great question! I’ll be happy to help you with this!

 

You’ll see a legend of the rate codes on your bill, typically on the bottom of the page where the usage is listed, when you login to your myAT&T.  You can view your bill online by following these steps:

 

  1. At the top of the page select myAT&T > Billing, Usage, Payments > Bill Details.
  2. If you have multiple linked accounts, select the desired account.
  3. Your current online bill will be displayed.

 

Here are the rate codes you asked about:

 

  • MSDGH0 = Mobile Share Data Usage.
  • SDDV = Shared Minutes.

Mobile hotspot wont allow devices to connect. Note 4 edge

A couple weeks ago an update hit my Note 4 Edge.  After my phone installed it my mobile hotspot quit working.  I have been to the ATT store to verify my data plan was not changed to unlimited which is supposed to disable the hotspot feature.  It was not.  I still have the 20GB plan I've had for a while now.  The only change is the update.  Now no device can connect to my mobile hotspot.  They can all see it but always return a message "Can't connect to this network".  3 laptops, 2 tablets, 1 Iphone 5s.  They can all connect to the Iphone on the same account but nothing can connect to the Note Edge.  I disabled the password leaving the hotspot OPEN and still no luck.  What can I do to fix this issue.  The hotspot feature is required for me.  The main reason I'm with ATT is I can talk and hotspot at decent speeds at the same time.  I paid nearly $1000 a year ago for this phone and feel like the ATT update has now made my note useless to me.  Please help.

Take it to the Samsung Experience desk at Best Buy to have the update reflashed.

FYI - the phone is referred to as Note Edge only.

Glad (well sorry) to see this is affecting someone else. There are probably more but they havent spoken up yet. And no I am not connected to any WiFi, my switch is turned off, as was my brothers and his wife. As far as my APN, everything looks the same aside from the name. My phone is listed as a Nextgenphone (which is also what my old nexus 6 was listed as), instead of AT&T. 

 

I message quite a few people, and oddly enough when I message someone on US Celluar or any non AT&T customer, the photo seems to go thru, but they also do no have the advanced messaging option.

 

Today when I get up, I am going to turn off advanced messaging, and see how it goes. I will make it a point to send alot of photos and repost here what happens

Thanks - the reset kind of scares me but the phone is acting wonky and I cannot use it (other than for phone and text). I am using the Store app  that was installed on the phone and there are five apps that have notations "pending" or "attention required" depending on which screen I use. I found instructions on backing up my data but it tells me to click on the Store app, which is when I get the error message. A service center isn't too far from me and I will try to get there this week. Glad I could give you a challenge. Thanks.

Is there any way to tell if a recipient I sent a text message to has opened or read the text I sent? We both have Microsoft Windows Lumia 640 phones.

Unable to fully setup att.net email on my Ipjone and Ipad

My att.net email was working fine until I upgraded to IOS9. I deleted the account and tried to set it up again using "Yahoo" without success. I was able to add the email account using "Other" email but I only have access to the email but not to calendar, contacts, etc.

Also, after the latest upgrade I am able to receive emails but not send. All the sent items stay on the "Outbox" folder.
Please anyone have any suggestions?

Currently having the exact same issue!

 

Can connect to http://att.com/ttr fine; can browse other att.com pages as well.

 

Cannot load http://google.com.

 

I get the message 

"AT&T Free Message: Your attempt to connectd to data service was unsuccessful. Please try again later."

No mobile data available (redirect fail?)

I get the message 

"AT&T Free Message: Your attempt to connect to data service was unsuccessful. Please try again later."

 

Switching airplane mode off and on did not work. Rebooting my phone did not work, either. My GoPhone plan shows that I have well over three gigs of data available.

 

Fairly sure this is a problem on AT&T's end?

How do I get AT&T messages set up for my secondary line. I've searched on the forum and online and I have been able to find any assistance. My account info and thus my login, pulls the main line. Is there a way to login in and only see text messages for the second line?

There is currently not an option to bundle landline service with internet. If you have U-verse in your area, you can get U-verse and voice.

Hello I have following circumstances: my friend is in the US now, my vacation will be in four weeks. My friend is so kind doing me the favor to buy/bring me a US-sim-card from there, so I can use it from the very first minute after I landed in the US (New York city to be exact). Which option is the smartest for her to ask for? Is there a data plan that uses a minimum amount, just on demand, like when a call is being made, so she could bring me the SIM card and before my travel I can fill my account with the amount that is needed for the final data plan I'm choosing? Online? I think I want / need those 3GB for 45$. Can I choose this plan online, once I own the sim my friend brought me from there? Will my friend receive the SIM card activated, although she hasn't my phone with her in the store these days? Thank you so much in advance for your help!

International text messaging to provider not on Country Code provider list

Hello,
With the Mobile Share Value plan you can text internationally to 120 countries. On the International Messaging Country Codes and Providers list they indicate a certain number of providers in each country. Does this mean that it is not possible to send a text message to a number with another provider that is not indicated on this list ?

There are other VOIP services that you can use for about half the cost and without a monthly fee. All you have to do is look around.
