$50 refund per line for July slow phone internet

I had an Indian sounding male AT&T rep call me on 7/10/16 while my mom was here asking me if I had experienced slow internet service in the last few days with my wireless I told him yes thinking that he was IT department and was going to assist but instead he told me that AT&T was aware of this problem and that I was to receive a $50 credit per line for this issue. Today I called because I received an automatic text message telling me that one of my phone lines just purchase a monthly subscription for $7.99 with auto renewal next month on 9/9/16 but this phone line belongs to a tablet for my 8 year old son who was at school and the tablet was off, downstairs on the charger in the living room. They refunded me but that's a whole nother scam at&t is now working on. So I happened to ask the representative about the credit I was expecting from July and he could find no notes on it and claimed clueless to what I was even talking about even though I have in my call log where AT&T called me on 7/10/16 as well as my mother ended up texting my daughter on 7/11/16 when my daughter had text my mom asking her if she as well was experiencing slow internet. I have the screens hot of that convoy where my mom replies back to her telling her at&t called me the day prior and are aware of the Internet problem. Has anyone else had this call or is AT&T now going to take responsibility, if reading this, and admit that they are aware of this Internet issue and credit me $50 for all 6 lines? Thoroughly disgusted with this company.

You got scammed for your passcode.  Call ATT and change your passcode and password.

OK well..both my brother and I turned off Advanced messaging, and so far every photo is going thru just fine. Got a few more hours yet and tomorrow ill turn it on, and will have him as well

I seriously doubt the phone call was from ATT. I've never heard of ATT offering a $50 credit for slow internet. Download speeds on the cellular network are not guaranteed anywhere. IMHO, there is no way ATT would offer credits.

Can someone please tell me EXACTLY what numbers I have to enter to send a text message to a country in Europe?  Obviously a "+" to start, then the country code, and finally the phone number.  Is there anything else that I'm leaving out?  I'm using an iPhone 6+.  All help greatly appreciated.

 Sorry, but it sounds like AT&T didn't do anything. It sounds like a scammer called you and said they were AT&T and got some info from you. Probably used it to purchase that monthly subscription for $7.99. Those two things are probably just one thing...

 

If there was a $50 credit per line for July, it would being talked about all over the forums and other spots on the internet.

Hmm, accidentally pasted some code into your post, or fiddling around with the HTML to test?

I'm pretty sure the control is pretty sandboxed, and while you can use some XML to display things, you can't execute much.

I am suppose to have unlimited texting but
Again I cannot text or call anyone that does not have an I phone
When I try to log in to at &it it says I cannot.

Hmm, rather than me bumbling through trying to help you on an iOS device, I'll just point you to this great little article, with pics and the whole deal:

Let us know, if you want more tips on what you should and shouldn't backup, if you decide to do a reset.
For example, your app list you should take a snapshot of, and maybe email it to yourself or similar, but you don't want to just re-install the current apps, since this might re-enable the issue your'e trying to "filter out" by doing a reset.

Great question! You have come to the right place, and I will be more than happy to help!

 

In order to get AT&T Messages set up for your other device, you will just want to create a second Access ID. You can do this by giving a new ID secondary access to the account. Please check out our support articles Manage online access for your ID or accounts and Accept an offer for secondary online access for specific instructions!

 

Once you have your second account set up, you can set up AT&T Messages again!

Under settings on my phone it says cycle august8 to sept8 I ever used 553 mb of data. But on myatt billing widget it says I've used 4 something in data. Which of everything is correct? And why don't they match up?

Am I able to pre order a galaxy note 7 on the 300 MB plan and then right when it comes activate it to an unlimited family plan with no charge for the 300 MB plan

You cannot order a phone unless you have an account and valid line to order it.  You would have to pay for the service ($25 line fee and $20 data, plus tax and line activation fee of $40)

 

Why not just order on the existing plan?

I'm not sure what angle your trying, but it won't work.  You will wind up paying full price, lump sum.

You are going to have to pay full price, so why not just order from Best Buy?

Does siri use part of data usage? It seems like it does when I use it on my iPhone 6 to send a text where I use Siri.

Data reporting is not done in real time. The actual data use could have been hours, or even days earlier. Towers often report data back in 3 hour intervals during non peak hours.

 

Your phone and carrier may not record data in the same way due to rounding. Your phone independently records its data use and should be within a hundred mbs of the totals reported by your carrier towers. Your carrier makes an effort to include data used in a billing period in that billing period rather than start your next bill period already with a chunk missing. This often causes the complaint of "inflated use the last day of billing period."

 

The analogy I use to explain data use is, your data plan is like a checking account, your phone is like the checkbook and debit card. Purchases made during the day are not deducted from your checking account at the moment you write the check or swipe the debit card.
Each tower = a point of purchase.
ATT towers = debit card purchase, often recorded as 'pending' and will be deducted soon.
Partner towers = check, no way of knowing when it will be deducted. International roaming data can take weeks to be deducted.
The delay in towers reporting back to ATT computers is several hours. Partner towers take longer.
Just like your checking account, the data isn't reported back for several hours, often overnight, and then deducted from your data plan.

If you have an android phone, there is an option in settings to provide a warning and a cap. It has to be set slightly below your cap to be sure not to go over.

 

iPhone has to be manually reset each bill period to show data.

Yes, a tiny amount.  If you send as iMessage that is also data.
