Hello,
Ever since switching to AT&T over a year ago, my email 2 text has NEVER worked. I have spent countless hours on the phone with AT&T support trying to get this resolved, and nothing works. Most representatives don't even know what email 2 text is, or how it really works. I know it can be fixed, I just need the right person in AT&T.
I know that the issue is that one tiny little thing did not work during the porting of my phone number.
I can send text messages. I can receive text messages. I can send and receive email. Everything else is working. The problem has nothing to do with my email, or my texting, or my data plan. It has nothing to do with my phone. (can you tell I have been asked the same wrong questions too many times).
If I send a Text message to an email address, the recipient gets an email, and it is "FROM" my 10 digit phone number "@txt.att.net", which is what it is supposed to do.
If someone sends me an email to my 10 digit phone number "@txt.att.net", they get an email return failure stating "Remote Host said: xxxxxxxxxx@txt.att.net - recipient does not exist here."
(obviously, I am not posting my phone number in this post... the "xxxxxxxxxx" above is really my phone number in the message).
Every AT&T Rep I have spoken to says "Your number ported correctly". I think that it ported 99%.
Somewhere at AT&T, there is an email server that recieves the inbound emails for "@txt.att.net" and "@mms.att.net". And, that email server has a list of every valid AT&T phone number. That list did not get updated to include my phone number.
Is there anyone in AT&T that can help me? Someone who understands what I have explained?
Please contact me, or tell me who at AT&T to speak to. Please!
Thank you.
